FOX PASS is back in town making the rounds. FOX PASS is a veteran Boston pop/rock band with a newly released CD dubbed “FOX PASS”. Their music is a blend of rootsy Americana and Power Pop, with multiple lead singers, 3 part harmonies, upbeat inspiring songs and clever lyrics, jingle jangle airy guitars over driving rhythms. FOX PASS is a band with an enigmatic name and fortuitous mystique, having been known in several arcane circles as foreshadowing certain Boston music scenes, and currently having the historical credibility to match their contemporary sound. The new CD shows FOX PASS’ wide range of musical abilities, and captures the sound of their live shows within a rich and sparkling studio recording. They have received great press reviews and are appearing all over the town. Although there has emerged some documented histories and eye witness accounts, nothing beyond the following is certain: FOX PASS is Jon Macey on guitar and vocals; Michael J Roy on guitar and vocals; Steve Gilligan on bass and vocals; Tom Landers on drums.
"Fox Pass," bien sûr, est dérivé d'une phrase française commune, "Faux Pas." This was not commonly known in the original incarnation of the band. Obscure bits of folklore do preceed them in this new era. Please visit the FOX PASS WEBSITE. The most important thing to do is to see a show and get the CD and hear the music....

Jon Macey and Steve Gilligan are performing and recording as an acoustic duo. They have just released a new CD of original duo songs. Their songs invoke the long ago wail of the moonshiner, the hypnotic strums of a Greenwich Village basement, the proto-hippie LA urban country singers, and the joy of Nashville cats. Both Steve and Jon are lead singers, and they blend their voices in wonderful two part harmony. Musically, they typically use mandolin or mandocello in combination with acoustic guitar to create a full sound out of simplicity. Lyrically, they range from haunting love songs to wistful reveries to sardonic takes on these modern times. The merging of their harmonies and instruments and songs is a guaranteed crowd pleaser, as witnessed by their successful appearances all over the Boston area. With the release of their debut CD as a duo, Everything Under the Sun, their sound is bound to spread far and wide. Besides playing their own songbook, a Jon and Steve show is a good place to catch their take on some great songs by some of their favorites: Gram Parsons, Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan, The Louvin Brothers, Hank Williams, and other stars of yesteryear.
The Macey and Gilligan duo is also part of a roving troupe of acoustic artists: Urban Caravan. Besides Jon and Steve, Urban Caravan features Salvatore Baglio, Bird Mancini, Mr. Curt Ensemble and Sgt. Maxwell along with a revolving list of guest artists. All artists perform individual sets as well as interacting with one another when the spirit moves with most evenings ending with EVERYONE on stage!
